A notable feature of titanium is its strong corrosion resistance. This is due to its particularly high affinity for oxygen and the ability to form a dense oxide film on its surface, which protects titanium from media corrosion. Titanium metal can form a passivating oxide film on the surface in most aqueous solutions. Therefore, titanium has good stability in acidic, alkaline, neutral salt water solutions and oxidizing media. It has better corrosion resistance than existing stainless steel and other commonly used non-ferrous metals, and can even rival platinum. Therefore, titanium is widely used in various chemical reaction vessels, heat exchanger materials and anti-corrosion fields. However, the disadvantage is that the cost is high, especially when used as structural components. Titanium steel composite panels produced by explosive composite methods , which not only has the corrosion resistance of titanium, but also has the strength and plasticity of ordinary steel plates as structural parts. What is particularly important is that the cost has dropped significantly.
