Introduction
Niobium rods are manufactured from high-purity niobium powder through processes such as forging, rolling, and polishing. They are widely used in steelmaking, metallurgy, atomic energy, superconductors, and medical equipment due to niobium’s unique physical and chemical properties.
Niobium is a refractory metal characterised by a high melting point (2477 °C), low vapour pressure, high elastic modulus, and excellent thermal stability. It also exhibits a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a relatively low density of 8.6 g/cm³, which makes it lighter than many other refractory metals while maintaining superior strength and ductility.
